Sports bra saves hiker stranded in Alps

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe....ap/index.html

Is it me or does this just sound funny???

"Berchtesgaden police officer Lorenz Rasp said that he helped lift 24-year-old Jessica Bruinsma of Colorado to safety by helicopter on Thursday after she attracted the attention of lumberjacks by attaching her sports bra to a cable used to move timber down the mountain"

Definately resourceful but I think those lumberjacks thought they were going to see some TIT:jump:

Sports Bra Rescues Woman Stranded in the Mountains

We're used to bras keeping "mountains" in place, yet they can be helpful when you're stranded in them as well.

Jessica Bruinsma, 24, used her sports bra as a signal to rescuers when she was recently stranded in the Bavarian Alps. Bruinsma went missing June 16 after getting lost in bad weather while hiking with a friend. She fell 15 feet off a rocky overhang, badly bruising a leg and dislocating her shoulder -- and then spent 70 hours on a narrow ledge that was too isolated for her to climb from.

Knowing that she needed her outer garments to keep warm, she attached her bra to a cable used by lumberjacks to move timber down the mountain. Eventually, the line carried her bra down to the base, where workers alerted rescuers.

While many folks may think of bras as "lifesavers," we would like to take a moment to salute the pillow sling that saved Jessica's heiney.

Check out some more bras pulling double duty after the jump.
