I wouldnt be surprised if Iran has been influencing the "speculators" in order to give them the chance to manuver themselves into their current position of thumbing thier noses at the US and Israel.

Dont bank on the Former Russian dudes or Hugo Chavez to be our friends any time soon as well.

Our government as well as GM and Ford did not plan for this very well. Lets see what they will do to save their asses. More than likely it will be up to us to figure it out.
