i would probably take the rock rails for a change if i got a new H3 only thing is i love the way the steps look for some reason...so i dont know purpose wise neither really do much for me, being i hardly ever step on it to get in, and as for the rock rails down here its all mudding so ive never been in a position where i needed rock rails....however it would be nice to not have to take off my steps everytime i go out....anyway LOOKS GOOD

We're on the road far too much, so the decision to stay with 33's was based on MPG, so I wanted to increase the visual height of the truck, and to add some underbody protection for the few chance trips to the mountains.




Theres a bunch of really scenic dirt roads out that way, and a low key, but fun road/trail that heads to the upper parking lot for Crabtree Falls. If you go past the parking lot it winds thru the woods. The hike to the falls is 20-30min, be warned its downhill from the upper lot, so itll be uphill back to the truck! :)

what type of rock rails you've got? they don't look like OEM's at that angle, or are they? I so far didn't get to the situation where rails would actually help against rocks or terrain, but by removing low hanging factory tube steps I gained enough clearance in order to prevent possibly getting stuck at several spots. There are generally easy trails in my area, with exception of few technical sections every once a while..with rails I feel more comfortable out there, less vulnerable.

They are Rocky Road Rockrails, I had them LineX coated for protection from rocks being thrown up from the tires and give them some grip as steps.

Really stout built, I had to tweak one of the mounting legs with a mallet but other than that, get help or use jack stands to help hold them in place while you put the bolts on. Less than an hour job.

I just installed them on my truck two weeks ago. Very well built, and good looking. The can be used as a step also (high step)

those are a lot better looking then those factory steps, which make it a pain in the ass to get into a H3!

yes, they looked to me a like rocky roads but they didn't look shiny..so you line-x'd them..that's why. I considered them too, but then I bought OEM's instead. I guess they're both good ones; I heard a lot good about rocky roads around this board..

I have the rocky roads as well and they are just as strong as they look. I have put them to the test on several occasions.
