Scolded Dog!

My H2 has about 18,000 miles on her, so I decided to take the air tube off and clean the air intake. I sprayed some carburator cleaner around the intake, and then pushed the intake open with one finger and then sprayed a little into the intake. I then took a paper towel and carefully wiped all the cleaner up, including cleaning the black stuff out of the intake. Replaced the air tube and fired her up. She now runs like a scolded dog!

I once had an Avalanche that was running rough and a mechanic told me that if you did this on your vehicle at about every 15,000 miles, it would make a heck of a difference. It did, and now I do it to my vehicles about every 15,000 miles.

I'm sure that someone can explain it better than I did, but you get the idea.

Isn't the T/B plate coated with a non-stick styled material that should not be carb cleaned?

You dont have a carb.. You should have used intake cleaner for fuel injected vehicles, they are formulated differently for the "sensitive" electronics that are on a fuel injected vehicle. Try letting it idle for about a half hour, if the problem persists, or the check engine light comes on, its gonna need to go to a dealership... Good luck

In this case "runs like a scolded dog!" means it runs great

Yeah I was just re-reading it, glad its running good! But be careful about the carb cleaner, those sensors can get quite pricey!
