Exhaust leak
So my truck has developed the famous #8 cylinder exhaust leak, Im not as lucky as most on here who had it, because my stud snapped off flush with the cylinder head, after pulling the manifold off, there was nothing to grab on to, to back it out. Has anyone else had this? Im hoping I can get a 90 degree drill in there and easy out the bolt without pulling the head off, but would love some input from someone who had the same problem!
Thanks!!! |
Re: Exhaust leak
I bought mine used and it had the same thing. But the stud was already snapped off. I tried to get to it with the manifolds off but no luck. Had to pull the head. Slapped on some shorty headers while I was in there. I STRONGLY urge you to change the knock sensors when you do this job. TRUST ME. Its a cheap part and you will be right there when you do it. (I learned the hard way. My knock light came on like 2 days after putting it all back together.)

Re: Exhaust leak
I used RTV to seal it up works great.
