Snow Plow???

Have a couple of questions. Has anyone ever put a snow plow on their H2? If so what kind of plow? Brand? Spread wings? What kind of money and what special neccesary attachments are needed? Don't know if I want to actually do it and put a plow on my H2 but I am looking at purchasing a plow and a truck but can't seem to find anything near me in Colorado at a afforadable price that isn't all beat up. Thought maybe why not just throw a plow on my H2 but want to know if their is anyone on this forum who has done it or has one on? Just looking for some general feedback.....
All info is appreciated.

There is a reason why any truck with a plow on it is "all beat up." If you're plowing a smooth driveway, maybe I'd use an H2, but putting a plow on any rig will wear out all the front end suspension and if you accidentally hit a curb or something else and you run the risk of cracking the frame. With all the snow you get in Colorado, I'd keep looking for something else with a plow on it, that way you can keep the chains and the plow on all winter. Just my .02. :)

There have been other threads on here about plows on an H2. Do a search. Good luck.

:iagree:
x2
I wouldn't put a full set up plow on the H2.
IMO I'd pick up something else especially if your going to be plowing a lot.

Re: Snow Plow???

Snow plowing is harder on a truck than towing. I had a 1983 F250 HD 4X4 with the factory snow plow kit many years ago. You're going to find the salt on the pavement gets into everything. You will find it's very easy to bend or crack the frame, even on a heavy duty chasis. As for the front end, consider doing a rebuild after every winter to include shocks, A-Arms, and steering linkage. Weird tire wear patterns on the front end are normal for snow plow trucks. My son plowed to make money for college with that truck and made good money, but the hours are long and it's hard on equipment. He used the Sno Hydro Super 650, no longer made, but built like a tank from the hydraulic reservoir to the blade. It added about 800 pounds to the front end.
This site has everything you want to know about plowing and how different rigs rate.

Thanks for the comments folks. After all consideration and thinking about it. I bought a older beater but with a good plow set up. I appreciate all your feedback.
