GM Paying For Gatorback???

Does anyone know if GM is paying to have H2's treated with the gatorback coating. According to www.gatorbackcoatings.com they list a GM Document that says it requires district service manager approval. It is a product that makes all the plastic on our H2's look like new and it's a 1 time and forget it solution. I just bought a 08 Avalanche and I found out about it from the Avalanche forum I belong to. I would love to have this applied to my 03 H2, but I'm obviously out of warranty. Anyone have any experience with this product or getting GM to pay for a application of it to their vehicle?

Good luck with anything involving GatorBacking.
We had an Avalanche too and they even agreed to
use the black color coating but as soon as they asked
if we were the first owner we were done.

If you are the first owner though they might go ahead and coat it
no matter what the miles are though or warrenty just to have your
truck look good.
I have never heard a HUMMER being done and would wonder if they
would not conflict since it is a HUMMER and not a Chevy.

Give it a try and I guess let us know what they say.

The dealer said he'd never heard of it :notallthere: , so I told him about the TSB, and he said to bring the bulletin in so he could review it. I'm thinking he could have went online and found it, however instead of making a 2 hour trip for him to "review" it, I plan to fax it over to him. I'll keep it posted...J

LOL! It was posted in several threads. I think it's been deleted. :D :D

TTN: Never heard of Gatorbacking. Did you get it done? How do you like it? My '05 is looking like it could use something to fix the black plastic. I took it to the dealership once and they got wax on all the edges.

Not yet, they have to set up a time with the body shop (they are the ones that apply it) and have to order the chemicals. I provided them with the TSB and the guy agreed to it (service manager). Props to University Hummer, great group of folks! Will add some pics when it is done.:excited:
