I have a Garmin GPS V that has all of the navigation abilities in it. The problem is that the display is very small and hard to read at times on the dash.
Has anyone seen a way to link the GPS unit to a LCD unit to provide a larger display. I do not have a sunroof and have the 3 sunglass holders and one would be a perfect place for the GPS connected LCD display. |

I too have the Garmin V, and yes it is at times hard to read, I find that in dayligt I adjust the backlighting brightness all the way up, and it helps a little.
A PC (laptop, or PDA) is the only thing that I am aware of that the unit will interface with. Not a very handy solution in a moving vehicle. Maybe some one else out there has more info. John JSA_3 (west texas white) |
We sell the street pilots for H2s. I have not looked at the V but it may be possible to tap the video line from the display and feed a cable to an alternative display. If that is done it will void any warranty you may have and also cause Garmin not to service the unit if it needs repair. You can contact me via e-mail if you have any questions.
