2003 HUMMER Recall

We got a letter in the mail today from HUMMER that states that there is a recall repair to be proformed on the wiper motor cover and if it is damage it will be replaced to stop a water leak or motor failure.

Just wondering if anyone else has got there's yet?
I will let you know what they have to do with ours.

Ok, now there is a recall for it, I already paid to have it fixed 8 months ago, guess GM doesnt offer a refund huh.... Bastards.

There is a "Customer Reimbursement Claim Form" included with the 2003 recall notice.

Mine has been okay since I sealed the module up as posted here http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=29583

Not sure if I am going to let them work on it or not.

The recall notice number is 08243 and is for the 2003 model year only.

Summary:
GM IS RECALLING 13,358 MY 2003 HUMMER H2 VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A CONDITION IN WHICH WATER CAN ENTER THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR MODULE. IF A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF WATER ENTERS THE MODULE, OVER TIME, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS MAY WORK INTERMITTENTLY OR THEY MAY BECOME INOPERATIVE.
Consequence:
IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, DRIVER VISIBILITY COULD BE REDUCED, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE COVER, AND REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE COVER FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HUMMER AT 1-800-732-5493 OR GO TO MYGMLINK AT HTTP://WWW.GM.COM/RECALL.

We took our's in this last Monday and they found problems with the parts under recall. They ordered parts and will call us back when they come in.
We have no idea what parts or when the parts will come in but at least the
repair will be free on the washer motor parts effected by the recall.
Will keep you updated on to what happens next.
