Need help with night vision goggles
 
I'm looking to get a pair of night vision goggles for the holidays. It's a gift from my parents so im looking for a pair around $400. So my question is do any of you guys know anything about them and could help me out? and any recomendations. Ive searched online however i dont really understand the differences between them cause i dont know much about them. Thanks.

I know that they have different generations. Also the type of tubes and where they're made are important to the image quality. I tried out a Gen 3+ unit that was about 2 grand, and it was cool, but not 2 grand cool -- still a little grainy at long range. Close range (20 ft or less) w/ the invisible light that came out was incredible, though.

It all depends on what its going to be used for? Being in the military I have used many diffrent types. The cheaper ones resemble range finders, the pricey ones are adaptable to your helmet, headgear and such. There are many mods and gens it just depends how much your willing to cough up!

I use to sell Gen 1 & Gen 2 night vision in the retail market...

All of them were grainy, even the pricer ones...my advise buy the Gen thats just behind what is current, that way you get a better value...spend the max but do your homework on pricing...

ALSO, biggest problem is BURN IN
ADVISE who its for to be VERY CAREFUL, can be an expensive mistake...

i bought a 40$ set at linens and things this weekend haha works good. they sell it as a toy but it actually works!
