Creeking Sound from Front end
Anyone had any problems with a creeking sound coming from the front end when turning and hitting bumps in the road? I leveled my H3 out a while back and installed the Bilstein Cognitos but I haven't had any problems until recently. I am not sure but the dealer said that they didn't hear anything but do tighten the bolts as a favor to their customers when being serviced.
I have 32,000 miles on it and it never really sees the trails. I hear it mostly in cold weather. Could it be CV's, ball joints, or tie rod ends? |
Re: Creeking Sound from Front end
Just did a search on the site and found out that it could be bad sway bar links or bad body mounts.

Re: Creeking Sound from Front end
I had the same thing, think it started from a H1 yanking me out of a mud pit. It started with the drivers side and moved on to the passengers side. You could only hear it when there was body roll. Took it in and they replaced the body mounts, but there was still the grinding noise, so they made some custom bushing, haven't had any issues since.

I had a similar problem with my 2006 H3. One of the front upper control arm bushings was bad. My dealer indicated this was a common problem with the
H3's. |
