Transmission trouble Help Please

Was driving along at about 50mph let up the throttle for about a second heard a clunk. Check engine light came on and now it's like I only have one gear. Very, Very slow to get moving. Truck is an 08 with 6 speed and the nearest dealer is 200 miles away. Any ideas of what might fix this????

sounds like it went into limp mode. I would call the dealer and ask them to see what they want to do.

I know this sounds crazy, but I swear I read a thread on here about this problem. Dissconnect the battery for 10 minutes and see if it resolves the problem.

BUMMER! :crying: :( :crying: :(

You could try:
1. pressing the Blonstar button.
2. stop driving it like it's stolen

The dealership out of Salt Lake is sending a flatbed. To bad this didn't happen next Sunday when I would have been headed down there anyway.

The guy I talked to wouldn't even try to help me trouble shoot it.

And Rox's your the only person to drive that truck like it was stolen. So it must be your fault.:D

Are they bringing you something to drive in the meantime? Since you'll have to go pick it up, they should give you a rental, right?

Look on the bright side. Maybe you'll be able to pick it up next week when you're there. (if they get it done in a week)

Re: Transmission trouble Help Please

Yes they told me I could get a rental. But here's the kicker. I went to pull the truck out of the garage and noticed the check engine is not on. So I went out drove it for 2 hours and it's shifting just fine. The only thing I did was pull the fuses that had anything to do with the trany, look at them and stuck them back in. So I guess there's no use sending it down there. They would probably just tell me that they can't duplicate the problem so there is nothing they can do.

I can't figure it out. People get on here for advice, then they don't take it! Why write the question if you don't want an answer!

My apologies Porshett. I was not ignoring your suggestion and it was going to be the next thing I tried while waiting for the flatbed.

Make sure you dont disconnect the battery now then, codes will be stored which they are going to need to get to the cause of the problem. My money is on the ignition switch

She probably couldn't reach the battery without a ladder. ;)
