H2 Crossbars: How do you get THIS back on?

Hey!

Does anyone know how to get the rubber strip on the crossbars back on after having to remove them? I've been trying for awhile now and I can't seem to get it to stay in the grooves. Any tricks out there?

Thanks!

Heather

It's been a while but you only have two choices....

You can either put it on there, slide one edge in (lengthwise) and gradually work the other side in with a screwdriver.

Or you can slide it in from the end but you'll have to lube it.

Not sure my description helps but....

I guess I'll try the lubricating route:giggling: ..... when I tried with a screwdriver earlier it pushed it too far down. These are a *$@*# to get back in! They like 5-6 years-old, I'm sure that doesn't help. Thanks for the advice!

Heather, age of the strips is not good. Try rubbing then down with armoral or son of a gun something like that to get flexibilty back in them. It has been a while since I had to mess with them.
