Updating Radiator (Extra Insurance)
Has anybody changed there Rads for aftermarket, and if so what brand, how much, and where??
Thanks in advance. Ed |
Re: Updating Radiator (Extra Insurance)
I did but it basically happened when I installed the supercharger anyways.
I talked to a tech friend of mine and he made a good point that for the most part, if the lines break going into the trans, it doesn't get into the antifreeze. I was going to do mine for safetly but think I'll pass right now. Food for thought... Mark |

Thanks Mark I'll keep that in mind.

Re: Updating Radiator (Extra Insurance)
I changed mine out for a Ron Davis dual core radiator without the internal tranny heat exchanger and then added a tru-cool tranny cooler with thermal bypass. Engine/tranny never get hot anymore, but still have a problem with power steering getting too hot when offroad in tight corridors and moving slow where no air makes it over PS cooler. This only happens offroad in summer heat
The Ron Davis radiators are not cheap but are worth every penny. If I had to do it over again, I would do the electric fan conversion as well |
Re: Updating Radiator (Extra Insurance)
I got mine from Breathless Performance and it works great! I too have a SuperCharger.

I wouldn't mind a higher capacity PS pump either! |
