#1) Why is that damn thing so expensive!?
#2) Will this void the warranty? #3) I see that this thing eliminates the air box over the spark plugs (or whatever you call those things). What is the purpose of that box. Since I installed the "Throttle Body Spacer" I can not get that box on right. It is very tight and crooked. #4) I hear that GM is coming out with a SC for the H3....Is this True? #5) What about electric Superchargers. Do they work? |

#1) Why is that damn thing so expensive!? Because people will pay that much for a SC. #2) Will this void the warranty?Only the engine, trans, tcase and axles. GM could reason the additional torque could damage the components, even if they could withstand the extra torque. However, warranty items such as radio, HVAC, electrical would probably be still in place. #3) I see that this thing eliminates the air box over the spark plugs (or whatever you call those things). It is very tight and crooked. Are you talking about the "C" shaped box, on the right side of the top of the engine (left side as looking from the front of the vehicle)? If so, that is the air inlet resonator. It is designed to quieten the air pulses from the intake air flow. You air is sucked into the engine by engine vacuum created by pistons going up and down. This causes pulses of air to be sucked in, and these pulses can produce noise. Most of your newer vehicles have some weird shaped box attached somewhere to the air intake system. Its purpose is to smooth out the pulses of air and reduce noise. if it is still attached, it should still work ok. Removing it could cause some intake noise. #4) I hear that GM is coming out with a SC for the H3....Is this True?I have not heard of seen anything on this for the H3. But I do know that GM Accessories is getting into aftermarket accessories and has been looking into getting into added superchargers and other performance items. Primarily I have read this is for performance vehicles, but who knows. I sure don't. If they did, it would probably be an expensive item; however, if authorized by GM and installed by a dealer, the warranty would not be affected. #5) What about electric Superchargers. Do they work?No idea. Have never seen one.[ </div></BLOCKQUOTE> |
