SUT Spare

How much do you think the SUT Spare and rear bar/crossmember weigh? 100-150 pds? I am thinking of getting the removal set for my 06, which pretty much replaces it with stainless towhooks and plate bracket. Figured be a nice wieght reduction, and also easier to park.

btw - its not an everyday car, and I have AAA (if I ever got a flat)

Dont know bout weight but you would be much better suited to find a pair of tow hooks and mount the plate with a bracket, much cheaper than that kit, if u look around u should be able to find someone with spare tow hooks layin around or check ebay thats where i got mine

Re: SUT Spare

that sounds cool. So you just got 2 rear tow hooks, and then modded up your own license plate bracket?

I would at least like to get some stainless tow hooks.

I took off the carrier and picked up a couple black hooks, then bought this holder - drilled a hole in the corner of it and used the odd bolt hole from the tire carrier bracket as a mount point. Its been on for over a year - not off road - but used daily. The light is a little dim, but I haven't been stopped.
