I was looking at different web sites for lift kits. One site stated that a 4" Rancho lift kit will not work with stock rims???
I have 37" MTR's on stock rims...why would they not work with a 4" lift kit???...back spacing??? |

That is exactly what I was told Tuesday. A friend of mine just had one installed and had to change his rims.
Black H2 Adventure Series + Luxury, AirForce One intake, Throttle Body Bypass, Gobi Rack w/2" Brackets & 4 PIAA 580 Lights, Xenarc HID, Alcoa Wheels, Goodyear 37x12.50x17 MT/R, Warn 9.5Ti Thermometric Winch, DiabloSport programmer,160 Degree T-Stat, 2-7" screens in headrests with DVD player and TV Tuner. |
I have the rancho kit installed and i did not have to change anything. In fact i am running stock rims and tires because i am looking for something better to buy.

I sell the Rancho kit on my site and I have never has a problem with the stock rims fitting after the install.

I might go with the Rancho 4" lift. Has anyone had problems using stock rims?
|
Sounds like someone is just trying to UP SELL you rims.
|
I have the Rancho lift. The best thing we (Big "O" tire store manager and I) could figure is that the Rancho kit places the wheel out a little futher than the stock parts which would put undo stress on bearings and such. It's the offset thing.

I think someone mentioned that the Tie Rod connects to the top instead of the bottom of the knuckle making it impossible to use the stock rims with the Rancho.
