MIke, hate to ask this of you not knowing you at all and being new to the forum. I'm getting ready to purchase a 3 and would like the benefit of the gmid. Although still unclear about it's actual function and how to obtain one, can I get it from any GM employee?

IF your purchasing a 06 H-3 you can do better without the GMID, if 07 use the GMID.
