Just bought a used '03 H2 2 weeks ago and LOVE IT! I do have a couple of questions though.

1. The rear hatch / door seems to not have any lift assist. i.e. - open it partially and it stays, lift it halfway up and stays half way up. I have to push it to open it all the way. Is this normal or do I need to speak with the dealer to get it fixed (still under warranty).

2. I have a Sirius sat. radio that I installed and am using the FM transmitter. Does the stock 2003 H2 Stereo with the 6 cd changer have direct inputs on the back so I do not have to use the FM transmitter? Don't want to remove the dash and radio unless I know.

Thanks!

Welcome and concrats on the very wise purchse.

You need new lifts. The dealer should replace them.

If I remember correctly from what has been posted before, there is no AUX input on the rear of the radio. But I am not an A/V guy so you really should get this from someone else.

Thanks for the responses. I do have a ladder and thought that might be the problem but I really hoped it was light enough. Oh well. It is at the dealer today getting a DVD system installed and they said the lift gate thing was normal.

I cannot wait to get my H2 back tomorrow - I have to drive a minivan in the mean time !!!

I don't have a ladder, but I had the same problem with the liftgate when I got my 03. The dealer just looked at another h2 on the lot, and replaced mine. Much better now... So where are you located at?

DOCHUMMER -- I am in Los Alamos, NM. I will be picking up my H2 this afternoon in Albuquerque and will check the other H2's on the lot to see if they work the way I think they should.

Seth! Thanks for reading his sig. Obviously I didn't. Sorry Pilot. Hell, mine won't go up either with the ladder.

Atleast I didn't give a part number.

About the tailgate lift problem. My guess would be that you have a ladder on the back? If so, the stock lifter thingies (technical term ) don't really seem strong enough to lift ours either. Even when it was new, it barely lifted before the ladder and after the ladder it had to be pushed up. I know there were some folks working on a new lifter, but I haven't heard anything new in a while. I kinda doubt there is anything wrong with yours if you do, in fact, have a ladder.

OK, so here's your fix. Call GOBI for one of their struts. I have only one of thiers and my door lifts up and stays up without a problem. I have the ladder too. I think Adam has two of the struts on his from GOBI.

Thanks - I wil call GOBI..
