Pulled the trigger on Silver Ice 2009!!

OK before you all scream at me for no pics, I'll be doing the driveway pics of it today.

Picked it up Thursday night from Cochran Hummer. There are some VERY good incentives out there right now let me tell you! Its a good time to buy a Hummer.

Impressions of the truck. I know you are going to laugh, but I actually like the new Goodyears better than the BFG's. Its a quieter ride with less tire noise. Seems like the tires are a bit harsher on the ride, likely due to the lower profile of them. Gone is the heater washer fluid. Got the 2nd row captains which is kinda cool.

Love the Silver Ice color. Really a sharp color. They moved the temp and compass off the mirror and into the DIC now. I didnt see this but supposedly it has the traffic feed from XM into the nav unit like the wife's CTS does.

Everything else seems pretty much the same as the 2008.

Will post pics here later today. Heavy fog here now, doesnt make for good pics!

Take a few pics of the insde and the Capt. chairs. Congrats! There is a silver ice SUT at the dealership not far from me in MA. Its been there for some time now, but I always eye it driveing by. Real nice color!

Congratulations! I was at Lynch looking at the 2009s yesterday too, and I just LOVE that color. You are definitley right about them making some pretty amazing deals right now. Not as sold as you are on those tires though, but the more I see that Silver Ice in different sunlight and cloud conditions, the more crazy I am about that color!

VERY NICE and congradulations on the 2009. Do they have any special financing on them? The last time I had looked they was offering 6.9% interest which to me is a rip off especially the way the economy is. I have both of mine financed at 0% Interest.

I am curious.......how come you didn't keep your 2008 and have your 09 as a secondary vehicle?

By the way........this has prob. been asked before........but to the captain seats recline? or are they fixed?

Congradulations again!!!! Very Nice!!

Thank you. I got 5.9 from I think M&T bank. GM wasnt offering 0%. Basically I got the truck for $300 over invoice, $2000 in GM loyalty, $3500 in dealer cash, and I got a coupon to use $5000 of my GM card points on the H2, which is normally only $1000. So all told, Sticker was a $75K and I got the truck for $60K and change.

Didnt want double the payments. Already have the garage full with H2, trailblazer and CTS4.

Captains do have a 2 position recline on them. I havent sat in them yet. But its a decent recline, but not a full lay back recline.

It really is a bright color and stands out. I think I like the look of the BFG's better, more rugged, but as I keep looking at this one I am liking the Goodyears. I had two slate blues and there wasnt a color that i really liked, then when I saw the silver ice, i was like....oh yeah I can deal with that.

Pics up for you. You know I havent seen an SUT at the dealer in years. Once in a while you will see one running around the area. They also had the solar flare in the showroom. It was nice, but I wasnt sure I liked it enough to buy it. They had a black one too, but I had too many black cars and just hate taking care of them...lol

Thanks for the pics. Those captain chairs look great! Way more function for 3 or more kids or adults manuevering in and out the back. The body color grill looks great too! Awesome ride! I'm jealouse. The silver should be an easy color to take care of and when waxed and clean will realy pop! I here ya on black, I would own a daily driver in black, I'm to picky!

One thing I did notice, your truck is a LE right? My flares are NOT stepped in a the door and I see marks on them already from getting in and out. I dont know how to protect them from getting scuffed up. I also noticed they arent putting the LE brush guards on either in 2009. I wasnt sure I liked the body color grill when I first saw it but it grew on me. Was used to the chrome ones I guess.

My Dad's h2 is a black SUV, he had a black SUT prior to that. I havent a clue why he keeps getting black ones, thats alot of paint to wax!

I got the Auto Butler treatment on it. We have it on the CTS and it seems to really work well.

Our 14 year old daugther is loving being able to sit in all the different seats....kids!

Those captains chairs are awesome! Do they recline and are they heated? Theyre just like the ones in my escalade limo. Although it does cut out 1 seat, which would hurt for me during prom season when even my unstretched hummer gets rented alot.

They do recline one position via a handle on the underside. Its not a total lay back recline but enough I suppose. The seat bottom is heated but not the seat back, just the the regular style rear seats.

It does cut one seat out BUT you have easy access to the 3rd row seats which you didnt have with the bench seat. I usually just pull the third row seats out anyways since there is only three of us. But the kiddo wanted me to leave them in for a while so she can try them out.

Cool. For me as I rent out my regular (unstretched) hummer too especially during prom season we call it a 6-7 passenger (not including driver) and the prom kids always try to cram 7 or 8 in there. I had a driver tell me he had prom kids fit 8 people in there and they didnt want to sit in the front seat! So they fit 4 in the 2nd row and 4 in the 3rd row! Now we've had it happen alot where they will fit 4 in the 2nd row even in my old 03 h2 and the 2008+ second row seats are way more comfortable and dont have those hard ridges on the edges of each seat. But, 4 in the 3rd row is almost inconceivable for me to imagine. So cutting out a seat would make a difference for us in prom season, but I think overall would be much more comfortable just minus 1 seat.

It really seems like the truck is alot quieter on the inside when rolling. My wife things the engine noise is less too. I wonder if they beefed up the sound insulation. I am sure the tires have alot to do with the road noise.

They are nice tires. I wonder how they will wear. If they are like other GY tires i have had they will wear quite well.

Our daughter likes the blingy look of the wheels. She said it stands out even more than the other one did! She is a funny kid. She is 14 and doesnt like the attention that the H2 draws from her friends and classmates. Comical stuff I tell you!

Was rolling down to Sam's Club today and all of a sudden Lola (nav unit) starts talking to us, warning us if traffic issues a few miles up the road. How freaking cool is that!??!!? Gotta keep XM to have that service. Pretty slick.

I purchased my 09 H2 in April. My wife and I are amazed at how great the ride is, the comfortable seats and the quiet. I agree with you the traffic feature on the XM is really slick.
