Install LEDs in front and rear clearance lights

I want to replace the bulbs in my front and rear clearance lights to LEDs. I want to keep the OEM lenses and the same basic construction. Have any of you done it or know where I should start?
Thanks,

When you say clearance lights your talking side markers??? those are already LED's. Overhead cablights and rear top lights you can google recon led lights.

Re: Install LEDs in front and rear clearance lights

By the clearance lights, I mean the lights on top, amber on the front (2 on corners, 3 smaller in the center) and the red on the back (2 on corners, 3 smaller in the top of the hatch). The third brake light is already LED.

Additionally I wonder if there is a LED cluster that will replace the DRL's below the bumper.

Hope this clairifys..........thanks.

HummBob, that is exactly the answer. Just placed the orders. I am so damned tired of those yellow DRL's that I turn them off everytime I get in the truck.

Many thanks.

Hey Stuart, I added RED/AMBER LED's when I had CLEAR LENSES!!!

Since then I went to SMOKED lenses, but I still left the bulbs in there!!

I did because when I added clear lenses, I needed the RED/AMBER bulbs, so I figured LED's!!

p.s. those cheap LEDs on ebay don't put out any useable amount of light for DRLs. THey'd be ok for parking lights but trust me they put out very little amount of light for driving, and they burn out quickly.

Hey Max, did you get these LEDs yet? I am seriously looking at these to replace the DRLs. I have a SureFire 6P LED that supposedly puts out 80 lumens, and if these DRL replacements will put out a true 120 lumens then I will be sold on 'em.

Let us know!

Re: Install LEDs in front and rear clearance lights

Got the LED's for the DRLS and it is just a bulb change. They are much brighter and are white instead of the puky yellow for the OEM bulbs. They are really an improvement and they are guaranteed for 1 year. They were $29+ freight for two to replace the OEM DRLs....no lense change.

As for the cab lights (clearance lights on top) I just changed the bulbs today. I left the OEM red and yellow lenses in place, just a bulb change. They are guaranteed for a year as well. Not sure that it made much difference in the day light. Will look at them tonight when it is dark and report back.

Thanks again for the original site HummBob!
