Coming from the Corvette world, the H3 is quite a change for me. I'm not looking for anything tire smoking, just something that might get me by that minivan on the highway a little better. My Z06 is done by Lingenfelter, and I know they are working on a turbo package for the H3. Anyone else know of any packages, how much gain and what they might cost?? TIA

80 views and no responses?? Am I the only person who realizes how dog-ass slow this thing is?? Again, I realize this is not a performance vehicle, but highway driving is almost embarassing. Any info appreciated.

I think that you aren't going to get alot of answers because there simply are not alot of simple upgrades that produce real horsepower.

This vehicle is not about going fast. Its about going slow, really, really slow. I agree that it could do better on the highway and the 2007 is getting more displacement to add HP & torque.

But, once you get the H3 into its real element, off road, you'll see that it is absolutely perfect.

Sorry that this doesn't help more.

And probably also because the "H3 is slow" topic has been beaten to death.

There are companies out there doing superchargers/turbos. $4k-$5k range from the ones I've seen. Try doing a search on here and on Google.

I completely agree. As time goes by, we'll see some engine options from Hummer that'll make the H3 a better highway/mall runner. But for now, while it's adequate for the everyday dry blacktop environment, it's really designed for wheeling on dirt, rocks and snow.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't want just a Google search, I want real opinions from reliable people with their own experiences. I thought that was the whole point of forums.

totaly agree with you, hummers are to enjoy the ride slow. you want to speed, buy a corvete or a M3, there is a lot of fun in both worlds. is for me a stupid idea to buy a 5k turbo for a tank, do you want to install 2 tons of heavy protection in your corvete? why you see so insane that nobody talk about turbos for hummers?

Sometimes you actually need to go looking for the info.

The reason I suggested you do a search was because, AFAIK, nobody on this forum has done a SC on an H3. Of course, if you had done a search, you would have known this already.

JW,

FWIW, I came into my H3 with similar feelings and concerns as you but after driving it now for 1800 miles I am very happy with the overall performance.

It's not pig slow, I have no problem outpacing traffic and it rides really good at 90.

If I feel the need for real HP, like you I have another vehicle to quench that thirst.

Yea variety is good. I keep a Porsche 986S in the garage for contrast. Like night and day after driving the H3 most of the time.
