GMPP question

When I took my 04 H2 in for service I found out the original owner had a 5 yr 70K mile GMPP contract that is still good. The GMC dealer I took it too (no Hummer dealer close by) says that it can only be transfered in the 3year/36K range. Anybody ever transfered a GMPP from a previous owner? I am under the mileage but not the time of course:crying: $600 later I have a new battery, ignition switch, hood cable and oil change. At least the ride home was free!

Seems to be BS. Mine had the same sort of deal, 5/60k GMPP. I didn't know when I bought it, it was 1 year old. I went in at 36k to have some stuff done since I thought the warranty was going to be up and walla, they do the work on put it under the extended warranty and that's when I see on the dealer screen the extended warranty. So I went back later at 50k and had stuff done, no questions asked. Never had the warranty transfered or anything. Maybe the dealer took care of me?

Re: GMPP question

When I bought my Z06 the previous owner had a GMPP in place, I believe it was either $25 or $50 to have it transferred..... a very painless process if I recall (it was over 4 years ago though).... I currently have in place GMPP coverage on that car till July of 2011 and I just purchased a GMPP for the H2 that is good through July of 2012. I would call GMPP and find out what the deal is (dealer is probably jerking you off). If you are able to transfer it I would hope that they would reinburse you for your out of pocket expense minus the deductable (if you have one).
