Has anyone taken there Hummer to

Has anyone taken there Hummer to a Cadillac Dealership to get warranty work done?

My Local Hummer Dealership is about 30 minutes away from me, and they sell BOTH Hummers & Cadillacs, but I have a Cadillac Dealership thats only 5 minutes from where I live. Does anyone know if you can take a Hummer to a Cadillac Dealer for warranty work? I have never tried it, but I thought I would ask before I go over there and look like dumb.

I really dont see that it would be that big of a problem, since both are GM Products, and the Hummer and Cadillac share the same engine, transmission, and a lot of interior parts.

Thanks everyone in advance for a response.

We have taken ours to a Chevy dealer for recall work but not warranty work.

I would call them first and see what they say about fixing them.
I know around here all of our dealerships are joining up and some are closing down so you would think in the near future they will have to fix all these cars at "other" dealers sometime.~Richard

Thanks Richard for the advice.

Up here dealers are closing up left and right. A lot of dealers the parking lots are becoming a ghost town. At my local Hummer dealer, they use to be flooded with Hummers, not anymore. I asked the service advisor are you all going out of business?? He looked at me funny and said I dont think so, why do you ask? I said look at the lot, its nothing out there.

All they had was 5 Hummer H3T's and 2 Hummer H3's and thats it.
And a choice of 3 colors, red, white, and black.

I take my H2 to a Cadillac dealer's service drive as the Hummer service department (at the dealership) closed down...so now all Hummers get serviced through the same Cadillac service department. They said there are a couple of Hummer techs working in the Cadillac service department. I guess the dealerships (which are owned by the same dealership) decided to consolidate the work.

I got a new warranty battery at the local Chev/GMC/Pontiac/Cadillac/Buick dealer. They call it warranty crossover work.

I go to a Caddy dealer here in southern NH. The closest Hummer dealer is about 45min. away. They service and warrenty for me no problems. The service manager is my neighbor and he suggested that he could take care of things. He said because of the distance GM would probably allow it. He says its all about competition between like dealers. He said e wouldnt be able to service a chevy because the Chevy dealership is down the street. So I would say that if your not in close proximity of a Hummer dealership there shoudn't be much problem with it unless your Caddy dealer just doesnt want to work on it.

Hi where i live in ontario canada hummers have to be fixed at a hummer dealer only to get warranty, it doesn't matter how far it is. I am only 5 miles from the hummer and chev dealer. Caddy dealers are not hummer dealers where i live. Caddy and gmc dealers are together.
