Headers....

So, I am getting ready to have the ride's exhaust done from front to rear. I am probably goin to end up doing it in sections at a time due to cost, so I have a little bit of time to decide a good header.

I am going to dual pipe it out the back with a flomaster on each pipe, so hopefully this will paint a picture for the pros, any suggestions on what headers I should get? Looking for professional, experienced responses here boys... don't want to screw the ride up and make it sound like garbage.

Re: Headers....

What I run and will run on any other Hummer I own you could maybe say any brand I drive is as follows:

Dynatech stainless long kneck headers
Dynatech stainless catback system
Dual pipe running off catbacks also running crossover pipes
Next I would use 2 Flowmaster super 40's tied in one in each pipe runs. The 40's fit standing side by side in the spot where OEM muffler would be.
Lastly I then run tailpipe over axle right where the factory tailpipe go over axle and stop them up high right at same level of factory so as not to interfer with off road.

I make these recomendations because my performance exhaust shop helped me design exhaust then they built it. It has been on my rig for 4 years.

Re: Headers....

Thanks, this is very thorough. Would it be possible for you to post a pic for me of what this looks like underneath your ride? (the exhaust part) The group I have doing my exhaust will be custom building the entire exhaust besides the cats, mufflers, and headers, so I want to see where they ran the pipes on yours, hopefully get an idea of how it was done professionally in case my guys haven't done a Hummer before...

Re: Headers....

My guy just followed the stock route. They run down passengers side of rig.
It would be tough to get pics with Dragon having it apart doing upgrades etc.
There is plenty of room for 2- 3" pipes to run in stock location but go down to 2- 2 1/2" pipes to go over rear axle. Stop tailpipes side by side in stock end pipe location.
