Installing Rear lower parking light(Bumper)
Hi,
I have a 2003 H2 that does not have the lower rear parking lights in the bumper. I've found some on Ebay, but have some questions to anyone that has installed these. 1. Is there any cutting involved? 2. How is the wiring? 3. I've found some on Ebay but if there is another place to purchased i'd be interested. here is a link to what i'm looking at incase someone doesn't know which light i'm referring to. thanks in advance. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT |
Re: Installing Rear lower parking light(Bumper)
i have done this mod on my 2003 .i would definately buy the new corner bumper pieces they already come cut out you can get them on ebay for about $20 each regular lamps on ebay $30 each ,lamps just click into the bumper cut out if you use your existing pieces and make a mistake cutting them out the lamp will not hold properly ,you can buy the harness from GM if you want the part #i can supply it, harness is expensive but makes the wiring easy .harness piggy backs into the rear tow receiver plug it has three pig tails one for each lamp the third conects to oem licience plate holder if you have the rear tire carrier.

Thanks H24bob,
I found the corner pieces on eBay, and that seems like an easy swap. Couldn't find the lamps for 30 only ones I keep coming across are the led for 100. I'll keep looking. Would like the wire harness part # if you have it. Thanks. |

Re: Installing Rear lower parking light(Bumper)
That GM oem harness is over $100. I found a trailer wiring harness on ebay that retains the factory wiring outlet but gives you and extra 4 flat plug. I just tapped into that and everything works and looks great with no hacking. I think the harness was around $25.
