GM Class 2 Radio
Does anyone know if there is a difference in GM class 2 radios from vehicle to vehicle?
I'm asking because coastal tech has the new IPOD lock pick, which works with GM class 2 radios (and many other GM radios), see http://www.coastaletech.com/New_Fold...IONS%201.1.pdf You can see the instructions clearly identify the 2006 Hummer radio. No brainer right? Well... I have talked with coastal tech and they state that although the Hummer is a class 2 radio, the way it communicates with the XM box is different than the rest of the GM class 2 radios. I'm questioning their info because another guy has been trying to order the lock pick for his 06 Hummer and they are stating they don't make one... which they do, I know because I just bought and installed one. Anyone have any knowledge they can share? |
Re: GM Class 2 Radio
As far as i know, it communicates via class 2 data as per the wirng diagram which would be no different than any other radio that uses class 2 data to communicate

Re: GM Class 2 Radio
Thanks...
I'm thinking I might give it a shot.... it'll depend on how much I actually use the iPod. It would be nice to have the ability to skip songs and change albums via the nav screen... vs. the little iPod. |
