in cabin air filter?

I cant believe that more people have not complained about dust and soot blowing in your face when off road... I live in Nevada and whenever I go offroading I about choke to death on all the soot that comes in to the cabin WITH the system ON RECIRC!!! It makes offroading no fun when you have to clean the **** out of the interior every ****ing time you go out. there has to be a fix or retrofit. Cause when it's 100 degrees out and you need the ac on hi and on recirc and its pumping pounds of sand and soot into your lungs thats just not cool.

Mine is 08, and I've confirmed that it doesn't have the cabin air filter.

I unscrewed and open the cover that is under the navigator's dash compartment, I found my HVAC box to be a sealed unit.

Where is the cabin air intake located anyway?

Perhaps one can improvise some crude filter mounted at the intake...

Mines a feb 03, and it does not have one. Must be REALLY early 03s that did. Was hoping to find one, as my truck still smells like the previous owner, 2 years later. Ive tried everything to get the smell out, only to have it come back a week later. Was hopin it was the cabin air filter, but nope... :crying:

just a side note on that, have you tried Ozone??? My dad used to sell used cars as a side business and didn't matter the smell, cigarettes/coffee/sweat/water/fat person whatever it was he used to put an Ozone machine in it at full blast for a full day and every smell would just dissaper forever.... Look up a cheap one online somewhere... should work:)

I wonder if there is something wrong with your system? I have been in some pretty dusty conditions with mine, and I have never noticed any dust getting through into the cabin.

Not sure where the intake is on these, but most cars it is across the back of the hood at the base of the windshield.
