what do you think this set up is
I just got my first H2 a 2005 with 36k on it and I'm trying to decide on a wheel tire combo and lift.
I like this set up What do you think the lift is and wheel and tire size? ![]() Thanks |
Re: what do you think this set up is
If I remember correctly, that lift is a 9" lift. I can't recall exactly but I chased it down when I was going to do a lift on my SUT. Also, I thought the guy was running 40's...
The pic is a little deceiving because the tires are so wide, they don't look as large as they are. I'll try to find out again, they used that truck on some ebay ad I think for the rear tinted taillights. That truck looks sweet. I would never have thought that red would look that good on such a large vehicle. Mark |

Re: what do you think this set up is
Are they using spacers to get the tires to stick out like that?

No, I think between the offset of the rim and the size of the tire (remember I mentioned it was deceiving because the tires I think are quite a bit larger than they look) they stick out. Mark |
Re: what do you think this set up is
That is a sweet setup.
If those are 40"s I would say they are at least 13.50 or 14.50 wide and probably mounted on a 22" or 24" wheel that would have to be 11 or 12" wide. Let us know what you find out. Also, the tires are nitto mud grapplers and the wheels are Rockstars....check their individual websites and I bet you can figure it out. DUCK |
Re: what do you think this set up is
I can't do a 9" lift or 40's
What do you think a 3-4" lift would look like with 18x9 wheels and 35x13.4 mud grapplers. I like the XD Diesels I want to keep the drive ability but get a similar look. According to west kentucky cutoms site the mud grappler is widest in a 35 on a 18" rim unless you go up to a 38" tire |

First, you either have a 4" rancho lift. ![]() or with 38's ![]() Or a fabtech 6" lift with 38's ![]() As you can see, there's not much difference between Rancho's 4" kit (which is more like a 5-6" lift) and Fabtech's 6" kit. Up from there goes 9", 12" and 14"..... Mark |
Re: what do you think this set up is
If you want daily driveability I would stay away from Nitto Mud Grapplers. They are loud and wear down fast. If it was a trail only truck Nitto's would be fine. There are plenty other mud tires out there that are much better for the road. Look into Toyo's, Goodyear MTR's, etc..... Even the nitto trail grappler might be a better tire for you.
You can do a 3 inch lift with 37's as well. To do do that you will need a leveling kit and cognito upper controll arms and spring spacers for the rear. If you are looking to offroad it I would stay away from 40s unless you like replacing axles and diffs etc.... |

Re: what do you think this set up is
Thanks
I was looking at the Cognito kit with the upper control arms and either spacers or new springs for the rear. From my measurements I have 4" of clearance now so I should be fine with 3". I've used the the Toyo MT's and had great luck with them so I'll probably use them I like the wider tire look instead of tall and thin. What do you guys think of the 18" 35x13.5 idea? It looks like the widest tire I can get is a 13.5 unless I go up to 38's and I don't wont to do that Splne 1, don't you have the chrome diesel with a 6" lift? do you have any front or rear pics? |
