Any clue??

I was driving down the street and noticed that my battery amp started to drop for no reason. Thr rig never stalled, but wanted to at stoplights. When I got it home and shut the engine off, and then tried to re-start it... it is dead!!
New battery??????? What you guys think...?

i second the alternator.

pretty much your alt died at some point, and the whole time you were driving you were on battery power. maybe the alt was giving some charge..

That would be my guess too. your amp reading is from your alternator. It shouldnt fluctuate like that unless the alternator is bad. Let us know what exactly the deal is.

Re: Any clue??

It turned out to be bad gas plus the battery voltage fluctuation was due to corrosion on the positive battery terminal.
I tested the battery and alternator, and they both were fine...
