54k Miles Too Many?
The lease expired on our beloved H3x and we returned it Friday. We've been looking at a 2006 H2 with 54k miles. It's out of warranty but appears to have been very well taken care of. We're a bit nervous about buying an H2 without the safety net of a factory warranty or GMPP. Is 54k miles too many?

Re: 54k Miles Too Many?
It really depends on price, options and condition (which you say is pretty good). I would suggest looking at some other vehicles both online and in person to gauge if you are getting a great deal. 54K by no means is high miles but its not low either.

Re: 54k Miles Too Many?
I've been following the market on Autotrader, cars.com and eBay for the last couple of months and have seriously looked at four other H2's. The asking price is just a tad over KBB Trade-In. It has navi, rear-seat DVD and backup camera but all after-market. It seems like a decent deal. However, a couple of trips and we'll be at 60k miles. Kind of scary without a warranty.

I bought an extended warranty. The cost was worth the piece of mind. As it turned out, it has paid for itself.

Re: 54k Miles Too Many?
Are you guys really contiplating 54,000 miles as alot..:giggling:
My H2 has 139,000 miles and is in great shape. I also wheel it several times a year. No offense but I actually laughed when I saw 54k because that is a spit in the bucket, beware of extended warranties also. They cost like like $1500-$2000 and then everytime you want to have your truck serviced they hit you with a deductible of $50-$400 depending on your warranty. |

It was for 84 months and 75,000 miles for $3,776 (my H2 had 11,300 miles on it at the time). 84,000 works out perfect for the number of miles we put on it. Yes, I already know it was pricey. But when you buy a warranty at a Rolls Royce / Bentley dealership that's what you get. I have received very good coverage with no questions asked so you get what you pay for. I have a $100deductible. If I had to do it over, I probably would have shopped around a bit. But my work schedule at that time did not allow for that. |
