100 MPG out of a Hummer H1
What do you guys think of this:
http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/...tml?page=0%2C0 This guy claims to get 100 MPG out of converted hummers. The article talks about: - Benefits of diesel vs. gasoline engines (Good) - Use of natural gas diesel dual fuel vehicles (OK) - Use of diesel/hydrogen dual fuel vehicles (Sketchy... efficiency claim doesn't make sense to me). - Use of 'supercapacitor' batteries for hybridization. The engine fully charges the batteries in 'seconds' (Bad...) - Super quite engine due to the lubricating properties of vegetable oil (Very bad) - Big conspiracy at the auto manufacturers to not use any of this technology (Very very bad). Am I missing something, or is this assessment about right? |
