Torsion bar bolts and adjustment

My torsion bar bolts are bugging me. One sticks down much farther than the other. I think they are not indexed in the same place on either the lower control arm or the keys themselves. The ride high is the same of both sides. Does this look like I could move the torsion bar one notch to get the screws at the same length?

Mine are the same way. The tech said that if I adjusted them, it could throw off the alignment. If you want to mess with them, wait until you're ready for an alignment.

Yea, if your going to mess with them, make sure your on a completely level surface. It's actually hard finding someplace where concrete/pavement hasn't been channeled for water run-off.

If you look at how much more of the adjustment bolt is sticking down on one side. I think the issue is that they keys are not indexed in the same place on the keys and the lower control arms. Does anyone disagree with that?

Mine where the same and after I adjusted them the "popping"noise most people talk about dissapeared!! I don't know, alignment is still good.

You made an adjustment on the torsion bars? I think that could be the issue with my popping noise.

another thing to consider is the "Chevy/GMC lean"
you have additional weight added to one side of the vehicle.... your spare tire ( If mounted inside) and your fuel tank are both located on the drivers side. but.... both items are located to the rear of the vehicle, which the T bars dont really apply...hmmm |

I unloaded my torsion bars, pulled the keys and put it back together raising the front a little. My bolts do not stick down like they did before. There is hardly any popping noise now. Both bolts are at about the same lengrh on the keys.

The popping noise is hard to describe. Almost like a binding type sound.

Are you almost leveled now? How is the ride? If you can get enough lift with cranking T bars to get leveled , when do you start considering longer bilstein shocks? Even if you only get 1.5 inches of lift should you get longer front shocks or worry about doing Aarm replacemnt?

I just lifted them a little. I did not get wild with it. There is so much clearance already that I could put 37s on it and it would look just fine. There is just a slight angle on the half shafts. I would be more worried about offset than I would be on height clearance.
