16.5" wheels
Is anyone running 16.5" wheels and military tires? Are there any issues with doing this?

I haven't seen any. I will say as a former tire guy, 16.5 tires come off the bead WAY easier than standard type tires. You really have to watch aired down situations. For example you can air a regular tire down to zero and drive it around and it will stay on the bead pretty well. With a 16.5 if you air it down all the way it will just come of the bead all by itself. Basically the only thing holding a 16.5 on the bead is the air inside.

What about using the H1 wheels? They have bead locks on them right?

Well, knowing that, you could have some vibration issues. That was a common problem when mounting non-hub centric wheels on a hub centric vehicle. They do make hub centric rings, which match the diameter of the wheel hub on the outside and the hub on the inside, and they help, but are not always perfect. Not sure if there would be any that would fit that application though. |

Here's an article that describes the H1 rims a bit...
http://www.flashoffroad.com/features/Wheels/Wheels.htm Looks like the H1's factory one-piece wheels are hub-centric too...but the hub is larger than the H2's so you'd need the ring to run them hub-centric on the H2. The H1's two-piece wheels must be the ones that were lug-centric... |
