need help buying parts
hi guys .. i have an h2 with coil springs, its time to re-install the airbags and compressor... anyone recommend a good website to buy airbags and compressor?
|
Re: need help buying parts
Hi it costs alot to do that guessing about $1500 up. Alot of guys here have remove their air ride, to put coils in because of the cost to fix it.

Re: need help buying parts
i already have coil springs but i didnt liked them, noisey + riding quality is bad + ride height... thats why i wanna go back to the air suspension..
the guy that i bought the h2 from he installed tahoe springs and they fail, so its lowered now from the back... is there a good springs u recommend for this? |
Re: need help buying parts
ok
gonna buy new coil springs that will make my ride height better .. is there coil springs designed specially for h2 ? |

from the sounds of this, to clarify, you had the air ride system in before, and it was removed? is the old compressor still there? new one will run you about $800 from various sites.. ebay, 4x4 sites.. just search around, but thats about the average range bags i have seen for about $90 to $150. assuming you have all the hoses and conenctions still, it could be a simple re-install. if it was completly gutted, eh.. bring another case of beer to offset the time your going to spend figuring it out. |
Re: need help buying parts
Hi these are replacement coils springs if the truck had air ride in it when new. Their is lots of companys out there that make a replacement spring this is a gm spring. Hope this helps.

why right spring different than left ? |
Re: need help buying parts
Sorry, didn't measure before and after. I have not noticed a difference though so it must be minor.

Re: need help buying parts
Difference in weight from one side of the truck to the other was our (forums) guess. Spare tire carrier would be one example.
P.S. It would be the tension of the spring and not the Over All Length that would be different. Quote:

Re: need help buying parts
i got the new coil springs and installed them, they're good but problem is there's noise when i ride on bumpers, when i take a u turn ... he didnt put a rubber he just put a piece of iron at the end...

Re: need help buying parts
Hi their should be 4 rubber isolators, top and bottom on both coils. If you don't have them the steel on steel is going to make all kinds of noise and will wear into the mounts. They must be installed!!!

Re: need help buying parts
I'm in love with my H2 guys !
today, i taked it back to the shop, they removed the coils and installed the eom coils with 4 rubber isolators, ride height is cool now, and there's no noise ... fixed the windshield noise by selicon... no noise now .. Installed a magnaflow catback ... my h2 now is just amazing .. thnx guys for the help ... i'm going to install a transmission cooler next. |
Re: need help buying parts
Hi glad it worked out for you and alot cheaper than fixing the air ride.
|
Re: need help buying parts
yeah it's true, the eom springs are great ...
what else to do guys, i'm looking for a cooler .. but don't know what to buy .. weather in my country is hot, maximum temp in summer is 140F minimum temp in winter 40F .. there's no snow .. so what the best cooler for my ride? do i need a thermostat? |

Hi this is the best style to get and as big as you can fit in. Also you want to leave the rad cooler still hooked up and you don't need a thermostat with the temps where you live.

Re: need help buying parts
