I'll check with your boy Tim tomorrow...but I kinda wanna find a used pair on the cheap. I think the retail on these is terribly over priced. Prolly cause they say "Gobi"...I'd actually be fine if mine said "Walmart." I like the concept of them, but not enough to pay $150-$200...that's just silly.

I agree... with the difference that I would like it to say "blue light special":jump:

LOL! That's 'old school' K-Mart! Do they even still have the blue light specials?

Tim at Expedition Hardware's gott'em...$170 a pair. Anybody wanna go halfsies with me? I really only want one of these...for the driver's side of the tire carrier.

...apparently they are somewhat year specific; Tim says, "I would need to know the year of your H2. HUMMER had two different carriers on the rear and this will tell me what spacer kit is needed." So if you're interested let me know what year your truck is and I'll run it by Tim first.

Did someone say "Blue Light Special?" Many years ago (early 70's while in college) I was the Blue Light Special go to guy for the automotive department. If K-Mart had Gobi steps I could sneak in and let all of you guys get a Blue Light Special. :jump:

I might be interested... I dunno... I still wish they were cheaper.
The thing is ... I'm all blacked out but still have chrome tow hooks that I need to get rid of or exchange for black ones... So if I got with this I still have to get a black toe hook to change on the other side.
So we'll see. Let me know if you find anything else out there.

Hi I saw those a while ago then i made a set for myself about month ago. It took about 5 hours with the powder coating, mine are billet aluminum. They do work well for getting into the back.

They look great. Good idea, but the tow hooks have to stay in the upright position? I have the Gobi ones, well worth the money. I use them all the time too.

Hi its to much labour time to make them. If i could make them in 2 hours I could sell them but not in 5 hours. What coating is on your gobi ones paint or powder coat?

Re: WTB: Gobi Recovery Loop Steps

Hi if i decide to make a few sets I would need to ship them all to one guy in the USA then he would have to ship them to the guys that bought them they would be addessed and boxed. I will pay him the shipping cost. Also he would only go to ups one time and ship all of them because I don't expect him to go to ups a bunch of times. Shipping from Canada is about $20 each set by ups to the USA it costs to much, when i could ship 5 or 6 sets for $40 to the same address in the USA. Let me know what you guys think and what your willing to pay for a set or each one.

@TWR: Anymore thoughts on making these units? I still can't find the Gobi ones for under $170.

I really am only interested in one...but would settle for a pair.
