whining noise below shifter area

Hey everyone,

I've been hearing a high pitched whining noise lately in my H2.
- it comes from what I think is below the shifter/center console area
- doesnt do it all the time
- seems to be when its cold out and it will go away after 10-15 minutes of driving usually, however, it doesnt do it all the time even though it's always cold.
- the high pitched noise increases as the RPM"s go up. For example, when I accelerate it goes up (RPM Goes up) or when it decides to shift (the RPM then drops) so the noise will go down.

Any ideas?

Re: whining noise below shifter area

update, after further inspection I've realized it's coming from the passenger door speakers. If I put my hand over the tweeter up top or the door speaker it muffles the noise. Sounds like it's a short because I can also hear a bit of crackling. Of course a little bit later and everything was crystal clear when I had the system turned up. /shrug
