ebc pads and powerslot slotted rotors work great for me.

ebc pads, espicially the green pads always have good reviews.

whatever you do just buy a good named brand. i tried to cheap out and installed Napa pads in the driveway... after 2 weeks they SCREEECH.
I went back to Oem pads and machined the rotors, im a happy camper now. :dancingbanana:

i just did mine and used oem pads with autozone rotors. the oem pads cost me $95 and the rotors were $90 for both with a 2 yr warranty. no noise and very little, if any brake dust.

How many miles were you guys at when your OEMs finally needed replaced? I'm at 97,000+ and the dealer says mine are still very good. I just find that a little hard to believe...

Re: Brake rotor and pads time not sure what to get

Im @ 57,000 + the issue I am having is the ruff winters of Europe and this wonderful powered crap they use on the roads instead of salt over here have eaten the rotors and they are rusting bad. Mixed with the high speeds of the autobahns wears down the rotors / pads I normal cruise @ 85 to 90+ mph on the autobahn, add in over sized tires (37in) :fdance: pad/rotors go bad faster.

Actually, having worked in a shop that did brakes, that does not suprise me at all. Brake life will vary with how and where you drive, but you will not find pads that will last as long, be as quiet, and and make as little dust as the OEM ones. They did get some things right at GM. Toyotas are the same way. Their brakes last forever!

Ok ordered the EBC Sport Rotors and EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads I will post up photos of the install, Its been a day or two since I did a brake job so I have to get the rust off me 1st and find a new Jack since mine broke while putting on My Rancho shocks a few months back.

Okay so I get new rotors and pads, started to changed them out and I can not get the bolts lose to remove the Brake calipers on the front and on the back looks like you need a hex style key to remove two of the bolts and same thing with the 18mm bolts on the back. I dont have a air wrench and not enough A** to wrench them off with my hands. any tips

Re: Brake rotor and pads time not sure what to get

i had to use a 1/2" breaker bar with a 2' pipe extension totaling about 3' of leverage. it was crazy how tight those 2 bolts are.

Thanks for the info and the spec, I will have to get a more tools. A co-worker son has asked if he can do my brakes for a school project he's taking a course with Central Texas College. labor is free and all I have to do is provide parts and the vehicle and he gets graded on the work and is checked by the teacher. Maybe I can learn somethng too :shhh:

Just did mine. Brembo Sports Slotted, EBC 7000 series pads and Stoptech SS brakelines. The Sports slotted have been discontinued and they are available at half price if you can still find them. Got everything for about $750.00 for all four corners. Mastercylinder was an extra $160.00

Re: Brake rotor and pads time not sure what to get

I went with the EBC slotted and drilled rotors and the green stuff 6000 pads. Kicked my butt getting the calipers piston bolt off in the back I didn't have the 55 mm hex key had to find one and a bigger breaker bar.

I got all four changed out and now I am getting a ABS and TC light is on??? I am also getting a scrapping sound on the back passenger wheel took caliper off and checked it again looks ok to me, can this be the parking break maybe?

My original rear pads have finally worn out at 203,000 miles! Guess I'm not a heavy braker.
