|

|

Don't know the price because the parts guy just gave it to me.
On a related note, the touch-up paint is very messy and unless you have a steady hand, it will look nasty. I use a product by Langka that you apply after the touch up paint dries and it smooths out the "goopiness". The OEM paint was not affected. |
Speaking of touch up paint. I've got the same problem. Victory Red and three paint chips on the bottom of the drivers door. Also a slight surface scratch line from one of the nicks. These couldn't have come from rocks because I have the tube steps which are in the way. It couldn't be from another door because of the location. Man I wish I had cameras on my cars to catch these morons who do this crap.
On a side note, it is my opinion that GM's paint chips much easier than other manufacturers. I have an S-10 and it seems like if you just look at the thing, the paint chips off. I HAD a Ford Explorer since 1998 and it didn't seem to chip anywhere near as much. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |

Some colors are "soft", it doesn't matter who the manufacturer is. I had a blue Thunderbird with a very aerodynamic nose that caught every rock in front of it. Looked like a 16 year old kid with acne after about 6 months. Last few cars have been white, it seems to be better (Dodge, Ford, and Mercury). My Superior Blue H3 seems to be a bit soft, but I've been pretty lucky on rock chips so far (except for the windshield). |
The paint color is the same as the GM trucks. Might be cheaper at a Chevy dealer. I have an 01 chevy PU. that is the same color red.

Just go to your dealer with this."I paid XX,XXX,XX
for this truck and your not going to fix me up with touch up paint"? You"ll get it for nothing. Give them the part number 12345538 If not I can help 4.52+ around 4 somthing in freight.6.02 is retail. Touch up is a pain.make sure you test it where you will not notice it first. Then dab it very lightly. And remember shake the living hell out of the tube. |

I find the factory touch up paints are rather thick,if availabe the spray touch ups at auto stores works better you spray small amount in cap use artist brush to apply.(you can get like 10 of them for a dollar at the dolar store and toss them after aplying paint) Also the longer the paint sits in cap the thicker it gets so you can control thickness.I find a few light coats work the best and after drying for few hours you can use a light compound to blend it in better.Best yet the paint dont dry up in the can as it does with factory touch up it will last a decade(just remember to turn can upside down and clean valve after use)

WA9260 74U take these paint codes to a paint supplier for a 5oz spray. |
