largest tire for rear spare carrier?
 

whats the largest tire you can fit on the rear spare mount? How much weight can that bad boy hold?

I have 20x12 with 40x15.5x20 toyos. Im trying to get a full size spare somewhere on the truck, dont think the gobi will hold a 40"

I have a 13.50/40/17 on mine with no problems at all. I have the taillight guards on mine and it touches the guard when I have it fully open. I can still open the rear hatch but it's close. Glad I didn't get 42's I doubt it would have opened. Those things are stout but keep it greased.

looking at it, do you think a 15.5 would have fit? I know it will vary with offset, etc..

no issues with the extra weight of the 40's on there?

My wheels are 17x10 Mazzi Hulks with negative 12 offset. Tires are Wrangler MT/R's 13.50 and they fit fine on my carrier. Looks like it was made for it. I can't say for sure with 15.50's but with offset on the wheel you should be fine but like I said can't say for sure.

I did some measuirng today, I think I am good to go. Now I jsut need to find an inexpensive 40" toyo for a spare!
