Does anyone have or know how I can get an E003 Rack key ?
 

Looking of an E003 roof rack key please.

I went to the Hummer/ Cadillac dealer here and they wanted a whopping 26 bucks for the damn thing.:notallthere:

If anyone has one to spare, I'd be glad to buy it, or PM me a way to have one made obviously other than my local dealer.

Go to another dealership, Chevy possibly. I bought a set of 2 keys and tumblers for $13.00 from my local Chevy dealer right up the road.

I have long been used to the Corvette tax, but apparently the Hummer tax is even steeper.

The H2 roof rack locks are made by Thule. I just ordered a spare key for my H2 in case I lose it or break it. You can call them and order it or just go to their website at www.thule.com.

Their key numbers closely match the Hummers as Thules uses an "N" series while Hummers use the "E" series. So Thules N003 is the same as our E003 key. Thier cost was only around $2.50 each.

Yep, Just ordered my key from Thule
Total cost was $7.70 shipped
Not to bad, the shipping was more then the key.

This is cool! I stopped into an AutoZone and another Hummer owner pulled in next to me just to ask about roof keys. I tried my E005 keys from my old '03 but it didn't work on his '03 or my '06. I told him about this post, so hopefully both his problem of missing keys as well as my own will be resolved soon.

I ended up buying mine from the Chevy dealer for $10, and that included a cylinder.
The Hummer dealer wanted $26 for the same part :notallthere:

Info on stuff like this should be kept as a sticky on the site so those that have questions like these will be able to easily find it. (just a thought)

Another cool piece of info that should also be kept as a sticky is the DRL mod.

When I was a moderator from another site, part of my responsibilites was to not only monitor and clean up the threads, but also set these up when things like these came up.
