Can someone photoshop this for me...
Without looking like a 3 year old coloring outside the lines, I can?t photoshop these wheels in black.
Can anyone make these wheels black for me? Thanks. Mark |

That’s fukkin’ perfect!
And the color is right too. Makes the tires look bigger! Thanks, now I know what I’ll be doing... removing all chrome. Thanks man, Mark PS. Did you use gloss black or a dark charcoal gray? |
Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
good luck....thats the same thing i did with mine when i had them powdercoated......it was a pain in the ass. theres not too many places that will chemically remove the chrome because , apparently its bad for the environment. you best bet is to take the wheels to your powdercoater, if they do sandblasting, and have them scuff the chrome with the sand and then powdercoat on top of that. thats what they did for mine...but the chrome flaked in spots and looks like $hit....thats why it is now my 5th wheel spare.

I think I'd go a little darker on the rims

Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
If you want to see a real world comparison. I'll get some shots of my 24"s w 37" Toyos I de-chromed and powdercoated black. Switching to black literally makes the rims/tires look about 6" larger for some reason.

Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
Wonder what it would look like if you left the cap chrome..or maybe the outer ring?

Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
the all black rims look SICK! it makes the truck overall, look so much more aggressive!

I thought about it and came to the conclusion that the most I would leave chrome would be the rivets on the outside edge. But honestly, I'm with atomicgoofball (can't believe I even admitted that :D ) I think the all black looks aggressive as hell. Mark |
Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
I also blacked out your other chrome in the pic above to give you an idea of the final product...
...you got a really nice ride Mark. I'm soooo jealous of that DMax  |

Are you sure the rivets are really metal? The hex cap bolts on my Mazzis looked metal untill the rims went into the tank. Nothing left of them. Gotta drill and tap some threads in them now and putting real hex caps in painted bodycolor. I'd forget about the chrome, do the rivets in white to tie the wheels into the body color- Make it look like every part was designed specifically for your rig. |

It looks good but honestly, I think I’m gonna stick with just the wheels... not sure why. Quote:
Thanks, it’s been definitely worthwhile. I was hoping that when I got it done, it wasn’t a POS and it’s been as factory as I could have asked. Thanks for the compliment. Quote:
Yeah, I unbolted them today. They definitely metal... definitely useless but real metal...lol. Mark |
Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
It's weird, just a few short weeks ago, I hated black wheels, and now all 3 of my vehicles have black wheels...

Re: Can someone photoshop this for me...
I recall sometime ago someone powder coated the factory chrome wheels. Anyone recall who it was and/or have the photos?
