Subbing in headlights for DRLs?

Has anyone subbed in headlights in the DRL spot? I may need to do this for inspection reasons and was wondering if anyone had found a light that fits and if wiring was an issue.

I was thinking about changing the factory DRLs for these lights that DELTA offers as a direct replacement:

I've searched and came up short. Is there a way to rewire the existing DRL and make them fogs? I was looking to do that and buy a set of HID's

DRL Mod:

I would image that you could also throw a relay into the mix if you wanted them to turn off when you hit your high-beams...just like real fog lights.
