Dropped steering box to replace pitman and it's now leaking
So to get the damn pitman off you have to drop the steering box, which I did.
After moving it every which way to get the puller on, I noticed there's a small drip from the top of the box. Will this go away after everything is installed or did I damage a seal? Or just wait and find out? |

it would seem to me if its leaking at rest, its going to leak when its pressurized. But who knows, sometimes leaks go away when the systems pressurized.
You should know pretty quick after you crank the wheel a few times. Attachment 53922 |

Thanks ..
Even looking at the picture I'm not sure how exactly it all works. I'm hoping it's because the shaft was putting pressure on the area leaking and once the box was mounted and the pressure was removed that it seals up. Sounds like the alternative would be a broke a seal putting pressure on the shaft. ... |
