Air Bags OEM Or Suncore?

I know everyone says to switch to coils instead of replacing air bags but I have had both and prefer the bags. Does anyone have input on replacing them with OEM $215.00 or Suncore for $249.00

go on ebay and buy them off there for like $300 ish for the pair.

iirc they are Suncore ones, which is what i have installed myself and working great.

it is pretty easy to do, but helps to have a compressor or something to clear the dirt build up on top when taking the old ones off.

you dont have to worry about all the crazy stuff they say.

jack up one side
get underneath and cut the old one out.. bottom half
take the top half out, and disconnect lines.
connect lines and install new bag
turn car on to activate the compressor
slow lower the car to align the bottom half in.

repeat for the other side.

personally i dont think i will ever give up my airride system..

it has saved my ass a few times with the wife when she had a flat.
i woudl swoop in and save the day and collect the sweet payment for being the hero.

couldn't you carry a small portable compressor and provide the same swooping in heroness?

why take up more room in my cargo area when it is built in...

why spend more $$$ on an extra thing when i already have it

oh I'm not saying to I was just curious when all I read are people with constant issues with air bags then those who switch to springs.

Just wondering.

Wait, how strong is your compressor?

Mine is so weak that pumping up tires is just dumb, I've done it once but since then I've said screw it, it is good enough for the suspension but waste of time for tires to me.

Re: Air Bags OEM Or Suncore?

i have pumped up a few tires with the onboard comp.
granted they were normal car tires, so nothing major, but then again, im not planning on fixing any major issues on the side of the road or anything.

3 times my wife tires had a bad seal, and went flat. all 3 times i was able to get air running to it and inflate teh tire. the last time the tire seal was completly broken.. had to jack the car up to force it to seal the best i could until it started inflating.

from there it went to a shop to get a new tire due to damage from driving while it was flat.

i have helped a few friends when they have a flat too..

would it inflate my 37 inch tire?
ya.. but i admit it would take a little more time, but it would get the job done, or close enough i can get somewhere where i can use a real pump to do it.

with just the wife.. each time would have cost atleast $100 to tow the vehicle...so that is worth keeping the compressor installed.

if/when i get tired of the airride system, and i decide to switch to springs, i think as of right now, the only way i would do it is if i could still retain the compressor, but run springs, without any errors popping on the DIC.

maybe coil over bags might be an option?

^that's what I was wondering. If you could keep the onboard compressor in the long run. Honestly I wouldn't see why not but then again I've never encountered the H2 air ride system.
