Is anyone else's scratched up like hell there. My H2 is only a month old and it's scrathed like **** from shoe's getting in and out (all four doors). It starts in the door well by the Hummer cover and goes onto the paint outside the door. Anyone heard of anything you can buy for there to protect it?

$119 too expensive for 2 pieces of bent s/s imho.. |
Yes, mines scratched from heals dragging.
I was thinking about using the 3M "Clear Bra" material for each side. I have it on my other cars I just haven't gotten it done. Tim |
Those would work, But I'd like to protect all 4 doors. And also I'm trying to do the all black stealth look so chrome won't do. Wonder if I can find those in black.

Go to any sign shop and ask for Clear Vynil Buttercut.
They applied this stuff on mine when it was new. It's clear and works great. Can't tell it's there. .50cents per square feet. |

Thanks |
Okay all I'm having a hard time find someone to install that Clear Vynil Buttercut around here. It seems harder to find than 3 dollar gas
![]() ![]() Thanks Anyone. Or even something similar to it? |
No one? Does that even exist in black?

Well since my IQ is over 9 that was the first thing I did. But I can't even find anything but chrome. Heck I can't even find anything close to those accept the ones on ebay. There are one's for Jeeps though out there. But my guess is the size issue is going to be a problem. Maybe I'll just go with the 3M that is on my Vette but damn I wonder what the wear is going to be on the tape in a very heavy traffic area like that.

Yup seperated at birth. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Just cut it to the shape you want.
Start peeling the paper backing to expose the adhesive side. Position it where you want it. Stick adhesive side down and start peeling as you go along smoothing out the vynil. You'll get bubbles if you try and stick it down all at once. It's just vynil for signage. It comes in unlimited colors and thicknesses. Buttercut is the thickest from what I've heard. DRTYFN is an ashhole. Make sure you remind him of that. ![]() ![]() |

No stores around here have it. How is it holding up for you though? That would be my only worry with a tape like material. Thanks again |
Just go to your local spray in bedliner shop and have them spray that area.

No, not if they do it correctly and mask it off. Most shops do an excellent job at maksing it off.
|
Tomp thanks for the idea. I would really like to see what that looks like done before I went through with it though.
