What are the differences in these two iPod interfaces?
--Neo iOn - from mp3mycar.com ![]() or --Axxess GMIP-01 - from jpcustoms or audiooutfitter ![]() I know some on here have the Axxess and it's $80 cheaper but the Neo looks like a completely different interface. Just not sure if it adds any additional features. |

Can't say for sure about the axxess, but the neo is the same piece that peripheral sells under their own name and it works very well. The differences may be in how much funcionality you have from the headunit--namely the ability to change playlists or songs from the radio and have the info displayed correctly while doing so. Additonally, some of the interfaces will fullt charge the ipod even after you turn off the ignition.

I have the NEO and works fine for me.
Once you select a playlist or artist with the ipod, you can use the steering wheel control to move forward or back through the song lists. |
PAC Audio has the AUX-POD which is a easy to use piece also and allows you to completely control the IPOD thru the steering wheel controls, it will not work if you are using a CD changer.

At my dealership we use the Axxess unit. It is a phenomenal unit and our customers have been really pleased with it. The way I measure the quality and performance of things is how many times I see it after I sell it. Haven't seen any of the Axxess units back yet.

Does the Axxess work if you have a CD Changer?

I bought the axxess unit. If I already have NAV TV linked to the XM port, will I be able to plug this unit in as well?

I did a combo of the PAC Audio AUX-POD and the Dension iceLink. The PAC gave me 2 aux inputs and the iceLink was a cradle for the iPod. I may use the second aux input for my Cobra 75 CB's speaker output.

Here's another view.
By the way... I donated my H2 to PAC audio for a day to test/program their product on an H2 radio. They made mine display iPod & Aux on the radio as a favor. The production ones will display Aux 1 and Aux 2. |
