Any sales people out there? We are trading in our 2003 H2 (Lux) with 21K miles for a new H3. What might I expect for a trade in value? I do not have a loan on our H2.
The last H2 we traded in had 34K miles and it had the Adventure Package. I got $36,000.00 for the trade, which seemed reasonable at the time. |

However, if you have a full tank of fuel when you go to trade it you may get $50K for it. LOL... |
Well, KBB says it's worth $37,200 on trade but it seems that every damn dealer wants to give the auction price instead.
Also, the H3 I'm looking at is $38,200 retail (plus an extra $4,800.00 for "market adjustment"). Well, screw the "market adjustment" but I think the chances of me paying $1,000.00 OTD for the whole deal is unlikely. |
good luck getting kbb trade in value. most if not all dealerships give black book value which is often thousands less. if kbb shows 37k you may be looking at 32k.
|
That's good on the miles, depending on the color I'd say about 33k.
|
And don't pay any market adjustment fees. That's pure unethical profit for the dealer, in my opinion.
Heck, for 4800 bucks you could fly to Dallas, buy one from me, drive it back, and still save thousands of dollars. |
which dealer do you work at aggie?
|
Retail to Retail, wholesale to wholesale.
The problem is you won't get retail for the H2, and you'll pay retail for the H3. ![]() |
Because of aformentioned gas prices and the fact we can buy GM demos with under 1k miles at auctions for uunbelieveable prices we have been taking in H2 trades for between 30 and 32 k

Ouch!
|
ditto!
|
Instead of taking a HUGE hit at the dealer You might want to try to sell it privately. Iam currently in the market to purchase a H2 if the price is right. My email address is testtube@tampabaydsl.com

Private sales will bring more money, because they don't have to safety smog and advertise the vehicles they take in on trade, plus they are not looking to re-sell them right away....
|
Full sticker plus $4,800 "market adjustment"? OUCH!!!
Heres my 2cents; tell them **** off and buy else where. Im sure you could call different dealers and work them off of each other....then sell your H2 private party. |
I think you should sell your H2 yourself and fly to TX to buy the H3. You have to do it so you can time everything to stop off and meet everyone in Moab on the way back this way we can all see pics of the H3 there

In the beginning we had $5k mark-up, then we had $1995 now they are at sticker. I mean in the beginning some will pay. now at sticker they are flying off the shelves
|
Our H3s have always gone for sticker. I'm at Sewell Hummer in Plano, TX. Just PM me with what you're looking for and I'll do what I can to help, we have around 85 H3s on the lot right now.
