2008-2009 lower grill removal for OEM brush guard
Hey guys, wondering if you can help me. I've bought an oem brush guard... Basically same as in this picture.
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-auto-body-par...ationFlag=true I know i need to pull out the lower grill, and potentially cut away some of the rear of it to fit. i bought the correct bolts from GM (at least according to their parts website). My question is.. how do you get the lower grille out ? Do I just need to yank it out, or do I open the bonnet and there should be some clips i need to twist or something ? Appreciate any advice. Also, once out, am sure bolting the grille up wont be a problem, but will it be blindingly obvious where and how much plastic i might need to trim on the back of the lower grille. Thanks in advance, Baldfox |

For anyone looking, the clips on mine were rusted open, so couldn't close properly/pull. I ended up taking off the front grill - 2x 10mm nuts either side of the grill (past the indicators) and a sharp pull to remove the two horizontal tabs/clips above the grill cut out. The whole thing came off together. I then laid the grill assembly down, and manually squeezed/pushed the lower grill off.
I'll now need to dremel/saw the sides of the lower grill off to put it on in front of the grill guard. |
