anyone seen small areas of paint "boiling" in the engine compartment? I see some in the front lip of the engine bay and some at the very rear lip - in front of the windshield wiper blads.

I also noticed tha the brake fluid reservoir cap was loose and needed tightening. This type of "boiling" could have been caused by brake fluid but the reservoir is a ways off from the spots affected.

Sounds very odd...do you have any pics? I know brake fluid is very rough on paint.

yeah. pretty odd. something that I did not expect to see. Only saw after taking a close look at the engine compartment - like 2 hours when going over a couple of the dealer add-on items.

I'll check with the dealer (see what their line is) and may post a pick. It is a very small area but WTF - it is a new car!?

Can you take it back to the dealer?

unlikely with the mods already done by the dealer and the mileage put on. a decent body shop could just fix the areas. there are just two spots that can only be seen with the engine lid open.

I'll take a pick today though and post it.

It ought to be covered...unless you painted your truck. I would keep an eye on it, and make remarks to the dealer now to be cover if it spreads!
